Making A College Education Affordable

The Ab Nicholas Scholarship is available to any and all high school basketball players and managers, boy or girl. However, due to NCAA financial aid regulations, individuals who receive an Ab Nicholas Scholarship will not be permitted to participate in intercollegiate athletics at any NCAA Division I, II or III institution.

The application period for the Ab Nicholas Scholarship has closed for the 2013-2014 academic year.

High school seniors may apply for the 2014-2015 scholarship program beginning February 1, 2014.

Applicants who have been awarded an Ab Nicholas Scholarship for their 2013-2014 college year will be notified, in writing, no later than July 1, 2013.

Here’s a quick overview of the Ab Nicholas scholarships:

  • Good at any University of Wisconsin System school
  • $10,000 for a four-year program/$5,000 for a two-year program
  • Renewable yearly for the length of the program, for a total of $40,000/$10,000
  • Up to 60 scholarships awarded each year

You may qualify for an Ab Nicholas Scholarship if you:

  • Live in Wisconsin and attend a Wisconsin public high school
  • Participate your senior year in your school’s boys or girls basketball program, as a player or manager
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Do not play sports at the college level
