AB NICHOLAS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

Eligibility Requirements

Athletic Participation Requirements

To be considered for an AB Nicholas Scholarship, you must be an active participant in your high school’s boys or girls basketball program during your senior year. This includes students serving in the capacity of a team member or a team manager.

Financial Eligibility and Documentation

  • The Foundation determines financial need based on your completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • We encourage all applicants to seek additional sources of funding; receipt of other financial aid awards does not disqualify you from our scholarship program.

Educational Standards and Enrollment

  • Applicants must be seniors graduating from a Wisconsin-based high school, whether public or private.
  • Scholarship recipients are required to attend a University of Wisconsin System Institution as a full-time student, maintaining a minimum of 12 credits per semester within a four-year degree program.
  • To remain eligible for scholarship renewal, students must consistently meet the original award criteria and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher throughout their undergraduate studies.

Administrative and Application Procedures

  • Applicants must be legal residents of the state of Wisconsin.
  • You are required to have a unique student identification number issued by the University of Wisconsin System institution(s) to which you are applying.
  • Your profile must be fully updated to reach a mandatory threshold of 100 points to be considered eligible for the scholarship award.
  • A completed FAFSA must be on file with the Foundation to confirm financial status.
  • All applications must be submitted via our online portal during the designated enrollment window, which opens February 1 and closes April 30 of your senior year.
